Raúl Sotomayor is a percussionist, dj, music producer and Industrial designer from Mexico City, better known for his band Sotomayor, an electronic duo from the Mexican independent scene, that with 5 years of career, 3 albums, and shows all around the world, became one of the most important projects of the so called “New Latin Wave”.

During the pandemic, Raúl started a new project, Tonga Conga, a music endeavour where he explores collaborations with artists of the afro Caribbean diaspora.

As a producer Raul worked on “Cabra”, first album from prolific producer Eduardo Cabra (better known as “Visitante” from CALLE 13) Raúl composed and co - produced “La cabra jala pal monte” and “Lingote”. This album was nominated for “best Alternative Album” in the 2021 Latin Grammys. Raúl is also responsible for the production of albums from Los Master Plus (MX), Silvina Moreno (ARG), Sol Pereyra (ARG), Carolina Camacho (RD), Immasoul (MX),  Fer Altuzar (MX), Sofia Steiner (MX), Alaide (MX), and Torreblanca (MX).
